InterGen Studio

Program Coordinator & Product Designer
Volunteer

DESCRIPTION

The InterGen Studio is a virtual program which connects generations through storytelling, mentorship and media.

Since October 2020, I have been volunteering as a Program Coordinator and Product Designer to build the InterGen Studio. My role primarily consists of leading the product design to scale this educational program on a local and national level. I also aid in the branding, partnerships, fundraising and youth engagement divisions of this project.

Currently, we have over a dozen partnerships and it is still growing! As a program hosted on Mentor Canada’s Mentor Connector, a virtual platform to connect mentors and youth, the InterGen Studio has over 500 mentor applications (as of March 30, 2021).

In November 2021, InterGen Studio launched our program in-person in three different locations: Horizons High School, VISTA Residence and Kells Academy. We are collaborating with the McCord Museum’s Sharing Our Memories, Our Stories program to bring in the educational expertise in archiving and emotional learning.

COOpérathon 2020

Our project was a Finalist at the Coopérathon 2020 Open Innovation Challenge for the Best Social-Economic Solution Award and nominee for the Open Innovation Challenge.

Watch our final presentation here, presented by my team member Ely Bonder and myself.

Maison D’INNOVATION SOCIALE

We also participated in the Maison d’Innovation Sociale’s Civic Incubator program.

See below our final bilingual presentation to the MIS committee, presented by my team members Ely Bonder, Fred Jansen, Paolo Camirand and myself.
